Tuesdays at Nightingale Drive

Our group will meet each week and will be an opportunity to encourage and support each other. We will be looking back at the message from the preach and share how we can carry this out in our everyday. Prayer and worship are so important, so we will dedicate some time every week. We will spend time sharing and praying about what's going on in our lives. We are passionate about growing in faith together, and so our group will provide opportunities for different people to lead us in worship, discussion and prayer each week. No matter your age or stage in life, we'd love to have you join us as we learn, grow and serve together. We will be meeting at our home in Starbeck, where there is plenty of tea, coffee and doggy cuddles. We would love to have you as part of our group and grow in friendship with one another.

A little about us:
We're David and Rachel Paling! We moved to Harrogate in August 2022 and absolutely love doing life in Yorkshire! Rachel is a special needs teacher and David is a furniture designer. When we're not working we enjoy going for long dog walks, curling up on the sofa with a good show and spending time with friends. We both grew up in churches that had weekly groups in different ways but it wasn't until we went to university that we realised the value these groups hold. Church community is so important to us and having an opportunity to meet weekly, to pray and worship together, to hold each other up in faith and to do life together is something we are truly blessed to be able to do.

TUESDAY, 19:30
Paling's Home Nightingale Drive, HG1 4NJ
Wednesdays in Knaresborough

Our life group is a welcoming place where we grow together in faith and friendship. Rooted in the gospel, we share life through prayer, laughter, tears and support - moving from friends to family as we follow Jesus together. Our heart is for Knaresborough and the surrounding villages.

A bit about us:
I've been in Knaresborough and part of Hope Church since May 2022 along with my wife Kelsey and our girls, 4 and 18 months. We love building community, getting to know people and supporting each other on the walk with Jesus in our lives. One of us loves cricket and the other one loves coffee and good conversations.

I couldn't do this on my own so have a great core team comprising of Kelsey, Nick and Heather Wheeler, and Chris and Lois Staplehurst.

Together we are passionate about meeting weekly to explore what Jesus has for us, the ups and downs and hearing answers to prayer.

We would love people to commit and join our group but also welcome people who cannot make it every week but want a connection outside of Sunday.

We want to pray and love Knaresborough and the villages around us. So come and join us!

WEDNESDAY, 19:45
We will be moving around different venues in the Knaresborough and surrounding villages area
Flourish

A group of ladies meeting weekly to share, encourage, support & inspire one another whilst going deeper into the word and prayer together and overall forming great relationships! Not to mention lots of laughter & occasional tears with a fav cup of tea or coffee in hand. I love how every week I get to connect with ladies that I love spending time with and even if your week has been rough, you always leave feeling like your emotional tank has been topped up!

A bit about me:
I spend most of my days managing 2 very busy Boutique clothing stores in Harrogate. My passion for relationships has led me to believe that when ladies meet together regularly, strong bonds are formed through prayer, conversation, & good food of course and that vulnerability and trust grows our relationships over time. I'm inspired by the women in the Bible who had strong female friends who walked closely with the Lord like Ruth & Naomi, Mary & Martha, Elizabeth & Mary. What a blessing they were to each other's life story!

THURSDAY, 19:00
Shana's Home Rachel Court, 1-3 Dragon Road, Harrogate, United Kingdom
Verity Walk

Our main activity will be reading through and discussing books of the Bible together, starting with John's gospel. A typical evening would look like this: 7:30-7:50 catch up, 7:50-8:50 Bible study, 8:50-9:15 prayer.

Roughly once a month we'll dedicate an evening to something the group would like to do together, for example a social, praying deeply for long-term needs and passions or an evening practising our spiritual gifts.

A bit about us:
We moved to Harrogate and Hope Church when we got married four years ago. We both work part time for secular non-profits. We have a nearly two year-old who keeps us on our toes! We have loved leading and being part of a wide variety of midweek groups at Hope and before. We are excited to go deeper with our new group, support each other in prayer and grow in faith together.

THURSDAY, 19:30
Somerville's House Verity Walk Harrogate, North Yorkshire, HG2 9QE, United Kingdom
Thursdays at Holly Garth

Our group will be a place to build and deepen relationships, with each other and also with God. We will "do life" with each other and point each other to God in all we do. We will make plenty of space each week for prayer, worship and sharing with each other. We are keen for the group to be intergenerational and for people who are new to faith or those who have been Christians for a long time to find a home in this group. What's important to us is that our group is a safe space for everyone to walk the highs and lows of life together and seek God in all of those moments of celebration or difficulty. We are passionate about creating spaces for Holy Spirit to move and for us to see what He will do. We want to also create spaces for discussions that will deepen understanding and sharpen faith. Most of all, we want people who join our group to feel known and loved, not only by us, but by God.

A bit about us:
Gemma works as a Lead Ceremonies Coordinator for the local council and as such is involved in lots of weddings. She has been part of the church for 10 years and has lead groups before and been a very active member of the church, serving on different teams throughout that time. She is married to Hamish and they have a 2 year old (Samuel) who keeps them very busy! Hamish works as a Private Housing Options Officer for the local council and is working hard to help those who find themselves homeless or in temporary accommodation. Hamish joined Hope after meeting Gemma and has been a member of the worship team and also has lead groups before too. Hamish & Gemma are leading a group to build and widen their friendships within the church, but also because they feel this is what God has called them back into, to use the gifts He has given them to serve the church in this way.

THURSDAY, 19:45
Tim and Marilyn Larner's House Holly Garth, Bogs Lane HARROGATE, North Yorkshire, HG1 4EB, United Kingdom
Thursdays at Oak Avenue

When thinking about our lifegroup, we had a picture of a compass realigning to North. Where in the chaos of everyday life, we can feel like we are being spun and pulled in different directions, we want this group to be a point of connecting, grounding and recentering on Jesus. Each fortnight we will share a meal and create space to listen to one another and to God, as we share our lives authentically together. We hope to create an environment where people can be open, share deeply and then navigate through life together, continually realigning our focal point to be Jesus.

A bit about us:
We have been married for 6 and a half years, and have a 5 month old baby boy called Barnabas (Barney). We have lived in Harrogate for 2 and a half years since Dan got posted to work at the Army Foundation college within his role as an Officer- he now works in York but Harrogate won our hearts so we decided to stay here for this posting too! When Beth isn't on maternity leave, she is a primary school teacher at a local school in Harrogate. We met at church when we were both studying in Birmingham. We were both incredibly blessed to grow up in Christian families who introduced us to Jesus at a young age and encouraged us to be devoted to him. Both our families were always very intentional about being inclusive and building community wherever God sent us and that is now a high value for us; we try and live openly and under the conviction that "There is always space at our table for you".

FRIDAY, 18:30
The Woods
Sundays at Ashville

Midweek life can be busy, and evenings can be tough to get to. But everyone needs a community of people to pour into and be held by, so we will be meeting at 9am at Ashville on Sundays before church. We will meet to praise God, pray for each other, and read through the whole Bible in two years. Each week we will read some passages on our own throughout the week, and on Sunday discuss what surprised us, confused us, and what we saw fresh in it. We will also get a quick five minute teaching, equipping us for the next passage as we journey the whole story of the Bible together. We will break at 10am so we can then have plenty of time to chat, socialise, grab refreshments and be ready for our morning church gathering.

A little about me:
Hi! I'm Rachel, the Discipleship Lead here at Hope Church. I am not a morning person, so you can tell how passionate I am about this group by the very fact that I am running it this early! I grew up in a small church of 80 people, and loved the sense of community and mutual support. The things I often learned most about God were not from sermons, but from the amazing people of all generations who talked with me, shared their lives, and their insights about scripture and about God. As people asked me to pray for them, and asked me questions about my life of faith, I discovered the power of being part of a give-and-take Body of Christ, and I am so excited to help facilitate a little bit of that together here in this group, where everyone is valued and needed. And where we get to explore Scripture together with all our backgrounds and perspectives!
