What to Expect

Here are some questions we often find people have about out meetings:
"What can I expect at one of Hope’s Sunday meetings?"

Expect a warm welcome, great worship, an impactful talk based on the Bible and a friendly bunch of people to get to know over a coffee. Our meetings normally finish by 12.15pm

"What happens to the children at church?"
We welcome children joining us in worship. Although they may not be able to join in with the singing every week, we aim to provide an opportunity for them to join us in other creative ways, such as dancing, praying, painting and drawing.

We also have fantastic kids groups called ‘Hope Kids’, which normally start at around 11am when an announcement is made from the front of the meeting. Please click here for more information on ‘Hope Kids’.

"Is there a dress code?"

No, just wear something comfortable!

"Will I be made to feel uncomfortable?"

Not at all! We will be welcoming, and you will not be forced to do anything you are not comfortable doing. We want people to be themselves.

"What happens during worship?"

We sing songs together that help us praise God. The words to the songs are provided on a screen. During the worship we will provide space for people to participate by bringing various contributions. These can be prayers, songs, a passage of Scripture, or a word that people feel God is leading them to share for the encouragement of the church. The Bible is very clear that there is amazing power when the church worships in this way.

"What do I do if I don’t understand what’s going on?"

We do our best to explain most things as we go along. However, if you still have questions our welcome team are available to help with any questions you might have.

"Am I expected to give to the offering?"

No. We will often pass around the offering baskets during our worship time. However, as a visitor there is no obligation to give to this.
